President, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN)
It brings me an immense pleasure to welcome everyone to our upcoming 34th Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) Annual Scientific Meeting will be held jointly with the 8th Malaysia Stroke Conference 2026 and the 8th BRAiNS / BNC Research and Innovations meeting.
This unified approach perfectly embodies our core commitment to the theme: "Advancing Neurological Care through Uniting Specialties." This meeting, taking place from 20th to 22nd August 2026 at the Connexion Conference & Event Centre (Nexus) in Kuala Lumpur, is designed to be a dynamic forum for exchanging knowledge, building new professional networks, strengthening existing connection and fostering collaborations that will truly advance neurological care throughout our region. We extend a special invitation this year to our colleagues in neurosciences filed that include neurologists, stroke specialist, neurologist-in-training, physician, medical officers, aspiring neurologist, allied health, neurotechnologists, neurosciences research scientists and industry partners whose vital work intersects with neurology.
Our annual meeting thrives on the original contributions of our delegates. We warmly invite all clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals to share their latest work and submit your abstracts for consideration. This is a valuable opportunity to present your findings, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute directly to the ever-evolving landscape of neuroscience and stroke care. Last but not least, secure your spot early to enjoy the discounted Early Bird Rate!
On behalf of MSN, I would also like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to our invaluable Industry Partners. Your sustained support was crucial to the success of our last congress. As we look ahead to this joint event, we are hopeful for even greater collaboration to deliver a world-class scientific program. We warmly invite you to explore the exciting range of sponsorship and exhibition opportunities available to partner with us in advancing neurological care across the region.
I look forward to seeing you in Kuala Lumpur in August 2026.
Warmly,
Dr Ahmad Shahir Mawardi
President, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN)

Chairman, Malaysia Stroke Council (MSC)
On behalf of the Malaysia Stroke Council (MSC), it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 8th Malaysia Stroke Conference 2026, held in conjunction with the 34th Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) Annual Scientific Meeting and 8th BRAINS | BNC Research and Innovations, from 20 – 22 August 2026 in the Klang Valley.
This year's conference represents a strong and meaningful collaboration between MSC and the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences, bringing together experts, clinicians, researchers, and industry partners who share a common goal — to advance the science and practice of neuroscience and stroke care in Malaysia and beyond.
As the burden of stroke and neurological diseases continues to grow, it is imperative that we strengthen multidisciplinary cooperation, promote early intervention strategies, and integrate the latest innovations in neuroimaging, thrombectomy, neurorehabilitation, and precision medicine. Through this joint meeting, we hope to foster productive discussions, showcase cutting-edge research, and inspire new partnerships that will ultimately enhance patient outcomes and healthcare delivery across the region.
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Dr Ahmad Shahir, President of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences, for his leadership and unwavering support in making this collaboration possible.
We warmly invite all healthcare professionals, researchers, industry collaborators, and advocates to be part of MSN 2026, where science meets collaboration, and innovation drives better care for our patients.
We look forward to welcoming you to Klang Valley in August 2026 for an exciting and intellectually enriching conference experience.
Best regards,
Assoc Prof Dr Fan Kee Hoo

Chairman, Basic Neuroscience Chapter Vice President, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences
Good day to all distinguished guests, colleagues, and friends in neuroscience.
On behalf of the Basic Neuroscience Chapter of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN), it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 8 BNC Research and Innovations (BRalNs), held in conjunction with the 34 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences and the Malaysian Stroke Conference 2026.
BRalNs is a dedicated platform to highlight basic and translational neuroscience within this combined meeting. It brings together researchers and clinicians working across the continuum of brain science from molecules, cells, and circuits to systems, behaviour, and clinical application. Participants include basic scientists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, radiologists, and engineers.
The scientific programme is organised around core themes: neural circuits and systems neuroscience; molecular and cellular mechanisms; developmental, regenerative and plasticity neuroscience; computational neuroscience and neuroinformatics; and neurodegeneration and ageing. A translational cross-talk session connects basic science with clinical and industry perspectives, exploring how discoveries in the laboratory can be transformed into better diagnostics, therapies, and technologies.
We therefore encourage you to submit your original abstracts for review and inclusion in our program. Whether your work involves cellular mechanisms, advanced computational models, or novel device development, presenting in the BNC track provides a crucial platform to disseminate your findings, gain valuable peer feedback, and initiate new collaborations with both fundamental scientists and clinical neurologists.
In addition to invited colleagues and friends, the BRalNs programme features oral and poster presentations that showcase the work of early-career and established investigators. We hope this meeting will provide a strong environment for scientific exchange, feedback, and collaboration.
Thank you for joining us. We wish you a fruitful and truly inspiring experience at the 8 BNC Research and Innovations (BRalNs).
Yours Sincerely,
Dr Muhammad Zulfadli Mehat
Chairman, Basic Neuroscience Chapter (BNC)
Vice President, Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN)
